Dai Bishop, (known as 'Bish'), was a dual-code rugby international. He made his first class debut for Pontypool in 1981 and also played one game for Cardiff in the same season. He also gained one Welsh cap against Australia in 1984. In the 1988 season he was lured to rugby league and signed for Hull Kingston Rovers, subsequently also playing for Salford and London Crusaders. Bishop returned to Pontypool in 1995 as their player/coach.
