Gerald "Gerry" Cordle was born in Cardiff 1960 and played for Blue and Blacks - making almost 200 appearances on the wing between 1982 and 1989. Popular with the fans, he was an exciting finisher and a showman.
After many successful years at the Arms Park, he moved North to play rugby league for Bradford Northern. During his Rugby League career he played 132 games for the Yorkshire club scoring 77 tries, winning eight caps for Wales RL and one cap for Great Britain. In 1996 he joined the South Wales Dragons on loan and again played Union for Cardiff appearing in a pre-season tournament in Leicester.
An uncle of Cordle’s was the former Glamorgan fast bowler Tony Cordle.
