Having previously played for Cornelly Youth, Kenfig Hill and Aberavon, scrum half Raymond Giles joined Cardiff from 1987/88 until 1989/90 (playing 58 times). He captained the Wales Youth tourists to South Africa, captained Wales "B" v Argentina in 1981 and on their tour to Italy in 1986. He gained his first senior cap against Rumania in 1983 followed by caps against Fiji (as a replacement) and Canada in the 1987 World Cup. Giles also represented Crawshays and the Barbarians.
