Windam Jones came to note as a rugby player when he played for Cardiff during the 1902 - 03 season. Despite playing for one of Wales' premier clubs he left and joined Mountain Ash and it was here that he won his only Welsh cap in 1905.
After retiring from the game, he continued his connection with the sport when he became a member of the WRU committee, later he ran the line at several international matches.
He worked as a Colliery Manager and Estate Agent and passed away in Merthyr Vale in 1959 at the age of 80.
