Born in 1899 in Glyncorrwg, Bill Ould was a Policeman who was stationed at Barry. Between 1921 and 1928 he played 86 matches for Cardiff scoring 26 tries. He joined Cardiff from Aberavon and also played for Resolven and Treherbert. Bill Ould also played twice for Wales, in 1924 against England and Scotland. Although primarily a back row forward, Ould was equally happy on the wing and often played there is the occasion demanded it.
