Tom Pearson was born in Bombay in 1872 and educated at Mill Hill School. He came to prominence on the rugby field playing for Old Millhillians before joining Cardiff and playing 180 games for the club between 1889 and 1896. His international call up came in 1891 when he won his first cap against England. By 1896 when he joined Newport he had nine caps to his name – he finally won 13 overall.
Tom Pearson passed away in Newport in 1957 at the age of 85.
