Born in Bryncethin in December 1905, Ernest Gwyn Richards played Outside Half for Cardiff from 1925 until 1927 making 44 appearances and scoring six tries.. In 1927 he collected his only Welsh cap, playing against Scotland, before turning professional with Huddersfield Rugby League team.
Gwyn passed away in December 1985 at the age of 79.
