Bristolian Miles Deryck Normandale is a product of Marlwood School. He first thought about making a career from playing rugby after moving to Colston School for sixth form.
Normandale completed a three year course at Cardiff Met, where he studied coaching, and after impressing when Cardiff faced Cardiff Met in the SWALEC Cup he later signed for the Cardiff Blues in 2013.
Miles made his name during 2014/15 season as he broke into the first team and grabbed a superb try double performance that defeated Wasps in the LV Cup at the Ricoh Arena, in Coventry,
He made his Blue and Black debut as a replacement in a friendly at Fishguard and went on to play another 43 games for them. In 2015 he signed a new long-term deal with the Blues but was persuaded to join Merthyr. At the end of the season Miles moved to English Championship Rotherham Titans before returning to the Arms Park with the Blue and Blacks in 2017.
