Born in Regina in 1974, Canadian international Dan Baugh was a popular player at the Arms Park, appearing in 82 games for the Blue and Blacks and 18 for Cardiff Blues. He joined the club in 1998 after back row forward Gwyn Jones suffered a career ending injury. Dan was known for his direct running and bruising tackles and enjoyed a successful time at the club. His approach, however, was not without a share of injuries - to his knees in particular - although it was a break to his foot that caused him to retire. Dan won 29 caps and played in all Canada's games during the 1999 Rugby World Cup.
After retiring from playing Dan became a conditioning coach, first with the Cardiff Blues before moving on to Wales and Wasps among others.
