Cardiff RFC are delighted to confirm the signing of prop, Harry Fry, ahead of the 2026/27 Super Rygbi Cymru season.
A product of Cardiff Schools, Fry went on to Hartpury College, where he continued to develop his game and earned England U18 honours, a fantastic achievement and a reflection of his ability and potential.
Speaking on signing Fry, Cardiff head coach Dan Fish said: “Harry is a quality young prop with a really strong rugby background.
“He’s played at a high level, has represented England U18s and has all the attributes we look for in a front-row player.
“We’re really pleased to get him on board, and I’m sure he’ll make a big impact for us.”
Fry joins as a loose-head, bringing strength, work rate and a high level of experience to our front row.
“Extremely proud and excited to be signing for my boyhood club, something I’ve always had in the back of my mind and hoped I’d get the opportunity to do one day,” Fry said.
He joins the Blue and Blacks ahead of our sesquicentennial season, which gets underway at Carmarthen Park against Carmarthen Quins on September 12 (KO: 14:30).
“Having recently played in a 150th season, I know first-hand just how special seasons like this are,” continued Fry.
“It’s a great reminder of the rich history, tradition and success behind the club, and hopefully I can play my part in adding a few more good memories along the way.”
Fry joins the Blue and Blacks alongside his brother Ben, who is already part of the Cardiff RFC family. Having the two brothers together in blue and black makes this signing even more special.
“One of the biggest things I’m looking forward to is finally getting the chance to play alongside my brother.
“We spent two years training together at the Dragons without ever getting to play a game together, which was frustrating to say the least.
“We did get to play against each other last season, although I’m not sure the parents particularly enjoyed that experience.
“So, I’m looking forward to being on the same side this time around,” Fry said.
Fish added: “It’s also great to have him alongside his brother Ben. We’re looking forward to seeing both of them pulling on the Cardiff jersey together.
The whole of the Blue and Blacks are excited to see what Fry can bring to the squad, and he’ll undoubtedly be a great addition to last season’s regular season champions.
Cardiff get their pre-season preparations underway on Saturday as they welcome St Albans to the Cardiff Arms Park before then travelling to Astley Park to face Brixham RFC later this month.
On his expectations and excitement for the upcoming new season, Fry said: “The mix of experienced heads and young, exciting talent in this league always makes for a great competition.
“The way the league is set up means there’s always an exciting finish.
“The boys are already putting in the hard yards to make sure we’re right at the top come the end of the season.
“Can’t wait to get started.”
