Michael Griffiths joined Cardiff from Bridgend in 1989 having toured with the British Lions. He started life as a footballer before turning to rugby. Mike also played for Ystrad Rhondda, Bridgend, Wasps and Pontypridd.
He gained 35 Welsh caps between 1988 and 1998 and represented Wales "A", Wales "B", The Barbarians and the British Lions. Took up coaching at Ystrad Rhondda RFC.
