Edward McDonald (Ned) Jenkins was born in Tonyrefail in 1904. He played for Aberavon, Cardiff, Bridgend and Kenfig Hill making three appearances for the Blue and Blacks in the 1923 – 4 season. After one season he moved to Aberavon where he stayed for several seasons (including time as club captain). His international debut came against Scotland in 1927 and he would go on to win 21 caps.
A policeman by occupation, he also played for Glamorgan Police and county rugby for Glamorgan.
Ned Jenkins died in 1990 in Bridgend at the age of 86.
