Christian Loader was born in Neath in 1973 and caught measles as a child which made him deaf. He played much of his career at Swansea before playing just once for Cardiff as a replacement against Sale Sharks in the 1998 - 99 season before appearing for Pontypridd, Bath, Celtic Warriors and Rotherham before retiring in 2006. On the international stage he gained 19 Welsh caps.
