Bridgend born Gareth Williams played for Bridgend and Pontypridd before the advent of regional rugby in 2003, when he joined the Celtic Warriors. With the demise of the Warriors at the end of their first season Gareth Williams returned to the Arms Park, to join Cardiff Blues, where he had played in one game for Cardiff in 1998 – 9.
