Llanelli 5 Cardiff 22

Cardiff left Parc-Y-Scarlets with a bonus point win. In a scrappy first ten minutes the ball seemed to spend most of its time between the two twenty-twos. Max Llewellyn made a break that nearly broke the deadlock, only to be stopped short. From a resulting penalty though the first try came. The lineout drive was collapsed but the ball was retained and when it was sent wide Theo Cabango ran in the wide pass from Dan Fish.

It took another twenty minutes for the next score. Cardiff had all the ball but couldn’t make the killer pass. That was until an offside penalty and a couple of drives that put the ball under the posts. Fish looked up and saw Cabango unmarked out wide. The kick was perfectly placed for him to dot down.

Llanelli eventually got on the board just before halftime after a period of sustained pressure former Blue & Black Amir Jiwa-Walji the scorer.

Cardiff started the second half with a bang a lineout near the Llanelli line was driven at pace over the try line, Alun Rees at the back to score. Jack Maynard converted from wide out. The bonus point try took a little longer coming. Llanelli were making it hard for the Blue & Blacks, but when they got a penalty and kicked to the corner the lineout functioned as expected and Evan Yardley went over.

But that was all the Blue & blacks were to get but that bonus point win will be seen as job done.
