Cardiff RFC are pleased to confirm the signing of Ben Murphy.
Murphy is a former Worcester Warriors academy player, and has spent three years playing BUCS rugby for Cardiff Metropolitan University, which included captaincy last season.
“I couldn’t be happier signing for Cardiff RFC as It’s such an exciting opportunity for me,” said Murphy.
“The facilities and staff are brilliant, and I think it will be a great place for me to develop and meet a new bunch of lads.
“Signing for Cardiff RFC came about when I got a message from Gruff Rees expressing his interest. I went for a meeting down at the Arms Park and I was sold instantly, it was exactly what I had in mind for my future.
“I’ve played with a few of the lads at the club during my time at Cardiff Met. Joe Cowell, Elijah Evans and Steff Davies to name a few. They’re a great bunch of lads and I’m really excited to be back sharing the field with them.”
Murphy is now the second signing of the summer, as preparations commence for the upcoming Super Rygbi Cymru (SRC) season.
“The SRC has really established itself as a quality league, with some unbelievable players within it,” continued Murphy,
“Being able to play alongside and against some great teams and players presents itself with a great opportunity to better my rugby and definitely adds to the excitement.
“My main goal is to be playing regular rugby for the RFC and establish myself in the squad, hopefully being able to add to the team as best I can.
“The thing that excites me most is that I get to be playing a great brand of rugby, at such a great club, in a city that I’ve really grown fond of. I can’t wait to start this new chapter.”
