A 🔵⚫ Welcome from Behind the Posts

Welcome to our old friends at Pontypool in our top-of-the-table Super Rygbi Cymru clash.

It has always been a tough battle & keenly competitive over the years.
We’ve also shared some great players between us.
Including: Mark Ring, David Bishop, Paul Rees, Steve Cannon, Kevin Edwards, Alun Glasson, David Wright, Matthew De Maid, Paul Armstrong & more recently Peter Lloyd, Morgan Allen & many more.

The record for our fixtures so far is:
Matches played-190
Cardiff have won-119
Lost-52
Drawn-19

We were disappointed to arrive at Llandovery last week with our great supporters & squad for the game to be postponed with safety issues & a concern both on field & pitch side. A big thank you to all who made the gruelling journey up & back…your loyal support is always appreciated!

We remain at the top of Super Rygbi Cymru with 34 pts. & we are being eagerly chased by Ebbw Vale , Newport & today’s opposition Pontypool as well Llandovery, both teams on 23pts. Only 11 points separating the top 5.

We re-start this next block of fixtures, leading into Christmas & the New Year following a short break with the ‘Rags’ raring to go, especially after our disappointing ‘false start’ last week up in Llandovery.
‘Fishy’ & his coaching team have been preparing well off field & the boys are keen to show our home supporters, once again the exciting rugby we’ve been playing.

We received a special mention & endorsement of all the good work going at Cardiff Rugby in the recent Wales match day programme. Our ‘dynamic duo’ of Steffan Emanuel & Tom Bowen, highlighted along with Sion Davies, Matty Young, Harri Wilde, Elijah Evans & Osian Darwin Lewis. The blend of players has been working well for us, with our more senior & experienced players well lead & inspired by our skipper Sean Moore, alongside Jason Harries, Joe Goodchild, Dewi Cross, Luke Pollock, Marc Thomas & Alun Rees. We have then been boosted by the presence of current Wales international Mackenzie Martin, Lucas De La Rua, Rhys Barrett, Joe Cowell & Danny Southworth from our 1st team squad.
As I keep saying … Something special & exciting is happening out there on field with our talented squad… so please keep encouraging & cheering them all on!

We always enjoy & look forward to the Pontypool visit, to reciprocate their own hospitality.
A warm welcome to Pooler’s Executive Chairman Peter Jeffreys their President, the ‘legend’ that is Graham Price, alongside their off field support team. Let’s hope this weekend’s game maintains the highest standards experienced between both clubs over so many years.

Super Rygbi Cymru results still remain so difficult to predict as all clubs have really lifted their levels both on & off field.

I hope that our 🔵⚫ Blue’n’Black supporters are still enjoying our efforts off field with our new media presentations. Including our most recent ‘Rags Cast’. The players & coaching team are enthusiastically welcoming more links & interaction with our great fans, so please enjoy our 🔵⚫ Q&A in the club house before kick-off this weekend.
Opportunities to sponsor our players & match days still exist & don’t forget to purchase a raffle ticket from Jane & her team as well. The Blue’n’Black monthly lottery is still running & places remain available for our lucrative ‘jackpot’!

Thank you to all our supporters who will also get the chance to support our 1st team Cardiff Rugby in our unique ‘double header’ experience vs The Dragons kicking off at 5.15.

Ymlaen Caerdydd
