A Blue and Black Welcome From Behind The Posts

Croeso cynnes iawn i ein ffrindiau o’r Casnewyd yn ol Barc Yr Arfau.

Our last home game produced a strong performance from both our pack & exciting backs; with 4 tries & a 27-10 win against Pontypool, before Storm Darragh hit all SRC fixtures & our most recent home game against RGC.

Thank you all for your resounding support for the recent Gwent ‘double header’ & joint victories, against the Dragons & Pontypool on the same day. Something that’s always welcomed down at the Arms Park. ️

This afternoon’s tough, top of the table clash, sees our old rivals, the Black’n’Ambers visiting us.

Always a battle, over the years, both in the cup & in the league. I’m sure that this afternoon’s game will be maintain the spirit of all the past great players & officials from both clubs. Let’s not forget that not all that long ago we would play Newport home & away four times a season.

It’s still very close at the top of Super Rygbi Cymru.

Ebbw Vale have overtaken us for the top place on 43pts. after beating us in last week’s close fought game but & we are in 2nd place on 40pts & above both Newport & Llandovery. There are now only 14 points separating the top 5.

We started this block of fixtures, with real momentum following our last home victory against a strong Pontypool outfit.

Gruff & ‘Fishy’s’ coaching team have really prepared well off field this week & are looking forwards to a tough battle this afternoon.

We’re hoping to respond & bounce back today after the disappointment last week up in Ebbw Vale.

We head into Christmas & the New Year against Newport today, followed by our return visit to Newport on Saturday 28th December.

We hope you can join us when we face Swansea at home in our first game of 2025 on Saturday January 4th at 2.30pm.

We are really pleased to congratulate both Steff Emanuel & Tom Bowen on their recent debuts for our 1st team in the European Championship Cup. Steff out in Lyon & Tom scoring as well against the Cheetahs last week. Well done boys!

We look forward to continuing to see our great ‘Blue’n’Black Army’ following & cheering us on both home & away as always!
