Cardiff entertain oldest rivals Newport in the Indigo Premiership Cup on Saturday at the Arms Park looking to repeat the result of the last meeting between the two sides.
On that occasion in the final the Blue & Blacks ran out winners 13-10. Speaking ahead of the game Gruff Rees said “we are excited by the challenge this weekend after a flat performance against a smart Ebbw Vale side last Saturday. But there couldn’t be a better game to come back to.
We have a long standing relationship with Newport and in the last few seasons the games have been nip and tuck. They have some lovely footballers in their squad but we want to replicate the great day we had next door last season.”
