Cardiff RFC continue their quest for a first win in this season’s Super Rygbi Cymru Cup as they travel to Carmarthen Park to face Carmarthen Quins (KO: 2:30).
They head to West Wales following a 33-19 defeat at the Cardiff Arms Park against Newport last Saturday. On that day, Jason Harries made his 50th appearance for the club as Bailey Cutts claimed a brace with referee Ben Connor awarding the hosts a penalty try.
But following a 12-0 lead at the interval, Harri Ackerman scored twice, whilst Josh Skinner, Dafydd Buckland, and Carter Pritchard also scored to secure the triumph for the Black and Ambers in the Welsh capital.
For Saturday afternoon’s host, they enter the contest following their meeting with Pontypool RFC last weekend, which was postponed due to recent rainfall.
Prior to that, the Quins have recorded back-to-back losses against Newport, and in their latest outing, the points were shared with a 17-17 draw against Bridgend Ravens.

Pre-Match Thoughts:
Speaking ahead of the contest, head coach Dan Fish said: “Tough trip to Carmarthen on Saturday.
“We know it’s going to be a tough physical battle on the small pitch, and we have adapted our plans to suit the style of game we need to play.
“We had a great win in the league at Camarthen and know another 80 minutes of effort and intent is going to be needed to get the performance right.
“Fair few changes to the team with our U18s in the final and picked up a couple of injuries over the past couple of weeks, but it’s an opportunity to test our squad depth.”
Remember the last meeting at Carmarthen Park?
The last time Fish’s side travelled west to face the Quins was back in December of last year. It was a very much-needed win for the Blue and Blacks following a run of three defeats on the bounce.
Tries from Ioan Emanuel, Alun Rees, Elijah Evans, and Tom Williams accompanied Player of the Match Harri Wilde, who went 100% from the tee that evening.
That meant the Quins fell to their first home loss of the season, this was despite Callum Woolley claiming a hat-trick and scrum-half Rhodri Lewis scoring, which proved insufficient as the Blue and Blacks claimed the spoils 31-26.
