Dennis Prater

Cardiff RFC have been saddened by the news that Dennis Prater passed away peacefully last week.

Dennis Prater was a Welsh Secondary Schools international and played three times for Cardiff in 1946 – 47 before moving to Pontypridd, whom he captained for a season. During his time at the Arms Park he played a number of games for Cardiff Athletic (winning his cap) scoring nine tries during the 1946-7 season. During his career he also played for Old Penarthians.
After retiring from playing he became chairman of Barry RFC and later Distillers RFC (becoming Barry Plastics when the club entered the Cardiff and District Rugby Union).

Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time
