We have received the very sad news that former player Dr. Chris Jones has passed away recently. Chris played at the Club in the back row between 1963 – 1969 and was a great and very enthusiastic Rags Players who also played 24 games for the 1st XV during his time at the Club. Prior to joining the Club he played for Cardiff University and after leaving the Club he moved to the South of England where he played for Bournemouth RFC and subsequently Havant RFC.
After moving from Cardiff, Chris became a very loyal supporter of the Former Players Association and regularly attended the Annual Dinner until he was unable to do so due to poor health. At the last Dinner he attended, he was in a wheelchair, which illustrates his support and commitment towards the Former Players Association and his determination to be at the Dinner to meet up with his many friends. He was a very popular player and club member who made many friends whilst at the Club. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
