Llandovery RFC – Cardiff RFC Team News

Cardiff RFC travel to Church Bank on Saturday evening as they aim to extend their Super Rygbi Cymru winning streak to seven matches by facing Llandovery RFC (KO: 17:00).

The Blue and Blacks head to the small market town in Carmarthenshire off the back of recording an emphatic 52-20 victory against Pontypool RFC.

On a warm spring afternoon at Pontypool Park, Craig Hudd, Matty Young, and Ioan Emanuel all expertly scored braces as outside-half, Harri Wilde kicked 12 points from the tee.

Elsewhere, Ethan Lloyd and Osian Darwin-Lewis both scored, which guided Cardiff to a commanding six-point bonus-point victory.

Pre-Match Thoughts:

Speaking ahead of the encounter, head coach Dan Fish said: “Looking forward to a big game against Llandovery this weekend.

“Another tough test for us against a quality team.

“We had a good performance last week and know Llandovery will challenge us differently to what Pontypool did, so it’s important that we get our detail right come Saturday evening.

“Three games left in the league before the play-offs and there’s lots to play for.

“We just want to make sure we put in a good performance and keep heading in the right direction.”

Remember the last meeting at Church Bank?

For Fish’s side in recent times, Church Bank had not been the happiest of stomping grounds. However, in their most recent outing, the Blue and Blacks put aside the Drovers 52-19.

Dewi Cross, Joe Goodchild, and Osian Darwin-Lewis all scored twice, whilst Matty Young also scored, with former Cardiff player Josh Thomas slotting 17 points from the tee.
