Newport – Cardiff Team News

Cardiff are on the road once again with a trip to our oldest rivals Newport.

Following a victory in the cup at Tata Steel it is back to League action for the Blue & Blacks. “it’s a different challenge this week. Games against anyone in the top half of the table are always going to be tough and Rodney Parade on Saturday will be no different” said Head Coach Steve Law “last time in the league we were very competitive against Pontypridd, but more in the second half than in the first. This week we will have to be on the nail for the full eighty minutes. We are delighted to be helping with the return to fitness of two of the Cardiff Blues players and we welcome Aled Summerhill and Jack Roberts into the side as they look to work their way back and we will give them as much game time as they need”

“It is also great to see Shane Lewis Hughes getting the recognition with the Blues side in Glasgow this week. Shane has been playing with us for weeks and has shown what we is capable of – we wish him well.”

***UPDATED***

Aled Summerhill has been called up for the Cardiff Blues game so will not play for us. Tom Williams replaces him and Ioan Davies is called up to the bench.
