William (Bill) Roberts was a product of Cardiff High School and played 31 games for Cardiff between 1926 and 1937. Roberts was a 'blue' for Oxford and played in the varsity match against Cambridge with his brother John in the Cambridge ranks and he played with his brother for Wales against England in 1929 (his only appearance for the national team) and also for Cardiff.
