Sean Moore Set To Become Centurion

This evening, Cardiff RFC takes on Newport RFC at Rodney Parade, which will also see captain Sean Moore play his 100th game for the club.

“It’s a massive honour to get to 100 caps for a club as big as Cardiff with the history this club has,” began Moore.

“I’ve really enjoyed the last 5 seasons here, it’s a brilliant club to be a part of and to get to this milestone is an achievement I’ll always be proud of.

“One of the big moments which stands out to me was winning the cup against Newport in the stadium. It was a great squad to be a part of.”

Moore signed for the Blue and Blacks back in 2021, after he made an impact with Pontypridd.

The former Mountain Ash player made his debut against London Welsh in pre-season, scoring a try. In only his first two seasons at the club, he played 49 games. He was also named as the Blue and Blacks’ captain for the inaugural Super Rygbi Cymru season,

Like Alun Rees, who made his 100th appearance at the beginning of the month, Moore has gone from being an inexperienced Blue and Black to being one of the more experienced players in Dan Fish’s side. “I’d say my role has changed a good bit since signing five years ago,” added Moore.

“I’m one of the more experienced boys here now, and it’s our job to help bring through some of the younger players and get them ready to hopefully step up to be professionals.

“There’s been so many who’ve been a part of our squad over the last few years who are now representing Wales, and it’s always good to see.”

Overall, he has scored 40 points for the club. His last score came against the Black and Ambers at Newport Stadium, in a thrilling 36-30 contest. “It’s going to be a big challenge against Newport.”

“It is always a close game, and them being ninth in the table doesn’t count for anything, they are a much better team than that, and we are expecting a physical and open game.

“Hopefully, it will be a good one for the fans to watch.”

For those unable to make it to Rodney Parade this evening, you can stay up-to-date with live updates across all Cardiff RFC social media channels (X, Facebook, and Instagram).
