Cardiff RFC are delighted to confirm in preparation of the upcoming Super Rygbi Cymru season that we will play both St Albans RFC and Esher RFC.
Dan Fish will return to familiar surroundings when he returns to Tremorfa Park on Saturday August 16th (KO: 14:30) when the Blue and Blacks will kickoff their pre-season.
‘The Buns’ last season were promoted from League 2 East Central after winning 12 out of 18 games and are now two divisions below the Admiral Premiership.
Cardiff RFC head coach Fish said: “Looking forward to taking the boys for a tough test at Tremorfa Park.
“It will be a special day for me with St Albans meaning a lot to myself and my family as it’s where I started playing and my brother currently plays for them now.
“They have a familiar head coach who is well known to Cardiff fans in Nathan Trevett so it’s great for two mates to go against each other with both St Albans and Cardiff meaning so much to us.
“It will be a tough test with The Buns having back to back promotions so it will be a good test for us leading into the season and hopefully we get a good crowd in Tremorfa.”
Then on August 30th (KO: 15:00) Fish’s side will welcome England National League 2 East side Esher to the Cardiff Arms Park. This will be the first time that the pair has met since 2013 when Esher on that day claimed the spoils 24-10 in a friendly at Molesey Road.
On welcoming Esher to the Arms Park, Fish added: “Esher will be an exciting game for us leading into the season, it will be another tough test and put us in the right frame of mind leading into RGC.
“We always have tough games against English opposition and I’m expecting the same against Esher.
“It will be great to be back at the Arms Park and hopefully we will hit the ground running.”
