Tyler-Grocott set for Wales U20s debut

Cam Tyler-Grocott will make his Wales U20s debut on Saturday when Richard Whiffin’s side take on Italy at the Stadia Mario Battaglini in Rovigo on Saturday (KO 2.30pm).

The loosehead will be joined by fellow Blue and Black teammates Sion Davies and Tom Bowen who are named in the starting XV as Wales compete in the 7th place final in the World Rugby U20 Championship.

Bowen comes into the backline whilst both Elijah Evans and Harri Wilde drop onto the bench.

Whiffin’s side will be aiming to bounce back after losing to England last timeout and end the Championship on a high.

“Even at halftime 17-13 down we were right in the game against England playing well but in the second half we didn’t have a foothold in the game to try and put our game on them, they strangled us really,” Whiffin said.

“We have had to recover quickly and reassess for our final game against Italy. We will have to be wary as they have shown what they can do at this level in recent times and they have always proved formidable in the Six Nations.

“Saying that, the boys want to finish strongly and they fully deserve to after the work they have put in out here, for little reward.”
