Cardiff 26 Llandovery 54

Cardiff gained a bonus point for scoring four tries in a high scoring game at Cardiff Arms Park.

The Blue & Blacks started with a bang as a cross field kick was gathered by Joe Goodchild, the wing beating the last man to score. Arwel Robson added the extras.

Llandovery bounced straight back with a try by Taylor Davies but Cardiff went back down field and grabbed the lead back. Goodchild again the scorer as the wing broke the defence to score in the corner. And it got better as Harrison James touched down after a long period of possession, Robson again on target with the extras.

The Drovers got back into the game when a driving lineout resulted in Jamie Hughes going over, and they were back on level terms shortly after as Jac Davies crossed after a series of rucks on the Cardiff line.

Llandovery took the lead for the first time when Hughes again went over from short range to send the visitors in 26-19 up at half time.

The second half belonged to Llandovery as they looked capable of scoring every time they had the ball. The Drovers scored four tries in the space of twenty minutes to take any hope away from the home side. Nathan Hart – twice, Joseff Powell and Craig Thomas the scorers.

Cardiff were looking for a consolation score to give them something from the game, and it came from a driving lineout. Connah Vaughan scoring with his second touch of the ball on his debut from a driving lineout.

Llandovery though had the last word as Thomas dived over on the final whistle.
