Cardiff 48 Henley 28

Henley started the first half with a bang spending most of the first ten minutes in the Cardiff twenty-two before scoring the first try of the game through Kasper Strugar, Tom Howe converting. With the game being played at a frenetic pace it wasn’t long before Cardiff were level. Quick recycling near the Hawks line allowed Dan Fish to coast over for a try he converted. But the Hawks were back in front a few minutes later as Seb Scott crossed, Howe again converted and extended the lead just before half time as he went on a solo run for a try he converted.

The second half was a different story as Cardiff used the bench to great effect. Cardiff ran in seven tries, Amir Saleh started the second half scoring with a well worked try in the corner before Fish got his second. Joe Goodchild added a brace one of which went from one end of the field to the other through the backs hands. And with James Richards and Joe Williams also on the score sheet Cardiff ran out clear winners. Henley had the last word though as Rhys Amos scored on the full time whistle.
