Cardiff – Ebbw Vale team news

Cardiff entertain Ebbw Vale at the Arms Park on Thursday evening (19:30) and make several changes from the side that beat Carmarthen Quins at the weekend.

With injuries starting to bite into the squad Head Coach Steve Law has looked to the Cardfiff Rugby Academy for players who he feels deserve an opportunity. Harrison James and Ryan Davies have impressed the coach enough in training “they deserve a starting opportunity and with games so close together we can utilise the strength we have in these younger players to help us when we are being stretched on our resources.

This is a very young side with Dan Fish at the heart of it to bring these guys through. That said it is a very exciting side. Last weekend the coaching staff witnessed a great performance both with and without the ball to overcome a very good Quins side. This week will be another tough game. Ebbw have a new coach and will be looking to impress – and they have had a new six week ‘pre-season’ to get to know him and each other, but we are looking forward to the challenge.”

Another name familiar to Blue & Black supporters in Dan Preece, the prop features on the bench having been granted a permit from Brynmawr RFC and we are thankful to them for their support.
