Cardiff RFC on Thursday evening (KO: 19:30) will travel to West Wales to face Carmarthen Quins at Carmarthen Park, to kickstart this week’s Super Rygbi Cymru action.
This comes after the Blue and Blacks extended their losing run to three games against Rygbi Gogledd Cymru 1404 at the Cardiff Arms Park. Seven points from the tee by Steff Crimp and scores from Joe Goodchild, Alun Rees, and Gavin Parry was not enough as the Gogs claimed the spoils 28-22.
They face a Quins side that hasn’t lost at home this season, with victories against RGC, Newport, and Pontypool. However, tomorrow evening’s hosts come into the contest on the back of a 38-6 loss against Ebbw Vale after their clash with Bridgend Ravens was postponed.

Pre-Match Thoughts:
On facing Carmarthen Quins, head coach Dan Fish said: “After a tough couple of results, no bigger challenge than Quins away on a Thursday night.
“As a squad, we are hurting, we are not losing from a lack of effort, and we are creating more than enough chances to win these games, but it’s just coming down to some skill errors and some game management.
“As a coaching group, our job is to keep helping our players get better in these areas, and I’m sure we are not a million miles away from getting it all to click.
“As a club, we are very proud of the boys who have made their debuts over the last couple of weeks in the pro game, and it just continues to show that what we do works.”
Remember the last meeting at Carmarthen Park?
The last time the Blue and Blacks made the trip to face the Quins was at the end of September last year. It was a contest in which referee Matthew Leon issued five yellow cards.
Matty Young scored twice, with replacement Joe Williams also crossing the whitewash, but it wasn’t enough after a disappointing opening 40 minutes.
Lewis Morgan, James Newnian, and Rhodri Davies all scored as Cardiff went in at the break 24-7 down after Young’s try. Later in the second half, Iori Badham scored as Carmarthen claimed the spoils, 31-19.
