Maurice Richards

Maurice Richards born February 1945 played club rugby for Cardiff and international rugby for Wales before switching to rugby league in 1969.

He played 171 games for Cardiff and scored 97 tries, 4 in one match against Gloucester in 1966/67 and was superb sevens player. At the age of 23, he became a British Lion on a tour to South Africa in 1968, where he gained 3 caps.

He gained 9 Welsh caps, making his debut against Ireland in 1968. He also scored four tries in one international against England. in the 1969 Five Nations.
In September 1969,Maurice went north to Salford to play rugby league. He gained caps for Wales RL and Great Britain
