David "Dai" Evans was born in Maenclochog, Pembrokeshire but moved to the Rhondda to find work. A Policeman by profession he played for Penygraig before playing for Cardiff, six times (1896-1898) and winning four Welsh caps.
Although a very good player his stay at the Arms park was short lived, due to the competition for places at the Arms Park.
