Born in Pontypool, Sid Hinam was a policeman based in Cadoxton and played for Cardiff, the Police and Wales. After joining Cardiff from local side Llandaff North he played 96 games and scored 16 tries for the club. In 1926 he joined Rugby League side Rochdale Hornets.
His son Vernon also played a season for Cardiff in 1951 - 52.
