George Parsons played for Abertillery, Cardiff, Newport (twice) and Newbridge, he also made one appearance for Wales. In 1948 he joined Rugby League giants St Helens for whom he made 296 appearances going on to make a small number of appearances for Rochdale and Salford. As a rugby league player he represented Wales on 13 occasions and played once for Great Britain. Parsons worked for Pilkington Glass Factory, and was a Magistrate and a Liberal party councillor.
He passed away in November 2009 aged 83.
