Anthony Sullivan was born in 1968 in Hull, the son of Welsh rugby league international Clive Sullivan.
After starting his career with Hull Kingston Rovers in 1988 Anthony Sullivan signed for St Helens two years later and went on to play over 300 games for the Saints, also representing Wales and Great Britain. In 1998 he joined Cardiff but soon returned to St Helens. In 2001 he re-joined the Blue and Blacks (playing 48 games for the club) and also gaining representative recognition with Wales.
