Robert Jones was capped 54 times for Wales during his career. His attractive style of play earned him many invitations to play for the Barbarians and he also toured twice with the British and Irish Lions - to Australia in 1989 and New Zealand in 1993. When the Lions played a game against a Rest of the World XV IN 1986 the Lions scrum half was Robert Jones. Most of his club career was spent with Swansea but in 1994 he played for Western Province in South Africa and in the 1998 – 9 season he made 25 appearances for Cardiff.
