Uilise (Willis) Halaholo is a former New Zealand Schools star, who also represented Tonga at the 2009 Junior World Championship.
The dynamic centre struggled to break into senior rugby but caught the attention of Southland Stags while playing junior club rugby in 2013 and never looked back. . He enjoyed two impressive seasons with the Stags in Invercargill before being snapped up by the Hurricanes in 2015.
Willis Halaholo joined Cardiff Blues in the autumn of 2016 after taking centre-stage in the Hurricanes (Wellington) march to the Super Rugby title in New Zealand. He previously played with Rey Lee-Lo in the Hurricanes’ wider training squad and was recommended to Wales’ Capital Region by the Samoan star
In 2020 he was called into the Wales squad – qualifying on grounds of residency – unfortunately injury and a global pandemic delayed his first cap. In February 2021 he finally made his international debut for Wales when he came on as a replacement against Scotland at Murrayfield (Wales won 25-24).
Following a serious injury that kept him off the field for almost a year Halaholo returned to action in October 2023 in a friendly against the Ospreys and the following week made his Cardiff RFC bow in the Indigo Premiership game against Neath.
