Shane Lewis-Hughes was developed through the academy at Cardiff Blues and played one game for Cardiff in 2017 (against Bridgend). The following season he was allocated to play his Premiership rugby with Pontypridd, rejoining Cardiff for 2018-19.
After making an outstanding start to the 2020-21 season he was called into the Welsh squad and made his international debut in the six nations game against Scotland, played at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli. Strangely this was the final game of the 2019-20 Six Nations that had been postponed from it’s earlier, March, date due the the Coronavirus pandemic.
