The club has heard the sad news of the recent passing of former player Tony Pender.
Tony Pender attended Cardiff High School and Cambridge University (Queens’ College) winning his rugby Blue in 1963. A splendid back row forward, he served Cardiff well between 1964 and 1970 playing 151 games and scoring 27 tries. An invaluable member of the Cardiff 7s side of the time he playing 10 times for the club in various tournaments. After six years at the Arms Park he re-joined his former club Cardiff HSOB before taking an appointment in London as a Civil Servant. Whilst in London he played for the Civil Service RFC and London Welsh alongside many great Welsh internationals that graced the London side in the early 70s.
