Cardiff – Pontypridd team news

Cardiff entertain Pontypridd tomorrow night (Friday 19:15) with both sides looking to push on from good results last Saturday.

Ponty turned over rivals Merthyr 21-14 at Sardis Rd while the Blue and Blacks had an excellent bonus point win at Eugene Cross Park. Speaking of that game Head Coach Steve Law said “we were really pleased with the performance and the manner of our victory. It’s not very often the team does as the coaching staff have asked during the week especially having under-performed the week before. The team have had their accolades for the Ebbw Vale game, but now we move on.

This week will be a totally different challenge. Cardiff – Pontypridd fixtures are steeped in history and we know both sides treat it like a cup final. Form and results go out of the window and the team with the most effort and desire will be on top for long periods. As a collective group we want that to be us.

We are all very much looking forward to the game and hope that both sides can put on a spectacle that will befit what should be a decent crowd and renew our rivalry after such a long time without a game”
