Cardiff RFC make the short trip west to Bridgend to play the Ravens on Saturday in the Indigo Premiership. (14:30)
Having gone six games undefeated in the League this season the Blue & Blacks will be looking to extend that run against a Ravens side that have won once so far this season. That win though was against current Champions Merthyr at the beginning of October, Bridgend winning 17-12.
Speaking ahead of the game Head Coach Steve Law said “another tough game this week away at Bridgend. They have been very close in most of the games they have lost especially against Aberavon and Pontypridd where they led until very late in the games. Again we will have to perform to our highest standards to get a result.”
There are again changes to the side this week and that shows the competitiveness in the squad. Several of the team that have performed so well with Cardiff RFC over recent weeks have been rewarded with a call up for the Blues this weekend. Ben Thomas, Dan Fish, Jim Botham and James Ratti – who has just been awarded a two year professional contract on the back for his Blue & Black performances – will join up the European squad this weekend, we send them there with our very best wishes.
That though gives opportunities for other players and we are delighted to see Ioan Davies – the Wales u20s full back – returning to the field after his injury.”
