Cardiff RFC travel to the Talbot Athletic Ground tomorrow afternoon as they begin 2026 against Aberavon RFC (KO: 14:30).
The Blue and Blacks come into the contest off the back of impressive victories against Carmarthen Quins and Bridgend Ravens.
“Yeah it was great for us to get two strong performances and back-to-back wins at the end of 2025,” said captain Craig Hudd.
“It really gives us confidence going into the last game of the block.”
For the Wizards they head into the encounter without a victory since October against Pontypool RFC. But, Dan Fish’s men will aim to record their fourth consecutive victory for the first time this Super Rygbi Cymru (SRC) season.
“We have some tough fixtures in January with two testing trips away from home and the re-arranged game against Ebbw Vale so we know we are in for a busy month.”
Saturday’s meeting will be the second time this season that both sides have faced off. On that occasion at the Cardiff Arms Park, the Blue and Blacks crossed the whitewash seven times.
10 points from the tee by Lloyd Lucas was accompanied by tries from Alun Rees, Tom Cottle, Dewi Cross, Osian Darwin-Lewis, Joe Goodchild, Matty Young, and Joe Cowell saw Cardiff triumphant 45-26.
“It’s always tough playing Aberavon at their place and we know this week will be no different, hopefully we can back up the last few results and end the block on a high,” concluded Hudd.
