Cardiff RFC Pre Season Friendlies

Cardiff RFC will prepare for the new Super Rugbi Cymru season with two pre-season games at the end of August.

One fixture will be very familiar to Blue & Black fans as they head for Sardis Rd and a game against Pontypridd on the 24th Aug ( 2:30). Ponty will this season play in the Premiership meaning no league games around the festive season as has been the case in the last few years.

Speaking about the game new Head Coach Dan Fish said “A trip to Sardis Rd has never been easy – it doesn’t matter if it is a so called friendly or a league game. They will have a new squad and a new coaching set up which will be looking to impress. We will also have new faces out on the park and it will be good to see how they adapt to a hostile crowd”

The following week Cardiff entertain Cambridge at the Arms Park in what will be the first meeting between the two sides. Cambridge finished at the bottom of a very competitive Championship last season and will provide strong opposition for the Blue & Blacks.

Dan said” Cambridge play at a very high standard and will provide tough opposition for us. It will be some of the squad’s first experience of playing at home in this game and we can also look at various combinations following our pre-season work. Hopefully there will be a large crowd there to watch our last runout before we start the SREC season up in North Wales”
