Cardiff Arms Park – an Architectural and Social History

This season sees the publication of a new history of Cardiff Arms Park. This definitive volume tells the story of the area’s evolution from a pre-sporting public space to the home of the current national and club grounds. The book looks in detail at the rich history of events that have taken place there but, …

Wales selection for Ben Thomas

Our congratulations go to Ben Thomas on his call-up to the Welsh squad for the summer internationals against Canada and Argentina. Originally an outside half, Ben was convinced that he could have a career playing in the centre – and the rest, as they say, is history. A silky player with an eye for the …

The club is saddened to hear that former player Keri Evans – who played three times for the club in the 1983-4 season – has passed away after a long illness. Although Keri only made three appearances for the Blue and Blacks he had a massive impact on the club and Cardiff Schools Rugby. The …

Mervyn John added to the Oral Histories

The latest addition to the excellent ‘oral histories’ section of the Cardiff Rugby Museums website is Mervyn John. The epitome of  ‘the great club man’, Mervyn  was the type of player who could, and should, have won international honours but his playing career, unfortunately, clashed with those of John Taylor and Dai ‘Shadow’ Morris. Instead …
